I have seen two cut silhouettes bearing a stencil with this name, dated 1842. The artist may have been the Edward (?) Barnes included in Section Two (q.v.). The examples which I saw were bust-length, cut from black paper and roughly painted with gold. They had no bust-line termination and were in ugly carved and stained wood frames. The stencils were inscribed 'R. W. Barnes, Artist' and dated in ink.
