E Bell was primarily an engraver, drawing master and painter; silhouette work appears to have been a secondary career. He is known from a few examples of painted silhouettes, of average quality. Bell was potentially based in Worchester around the year 1792, but it is unclear how long he was active for. His work is identifiable through its depiction of sitters’ profiles, which are highly contoured.
