Introduction:

Bouvier produced a silhouette of Sir Robert Peel, which is recorded as a lithograph copy by William Spooner in the National Portrait Gallery. Foskett mentions Joseph Bouvier, as well as other members of the Bouvier family who were also silhouette artists. These included one working c 1804-1805 as well as an Augustus (?) Jules Bouvier. Nothing else is known of Joseph Bouvier, and no further examples of his work have been recorded.
