See Section Two for main entry
We can assume that the illustrated silhouette is by the I. Hill whom I have discussed in Section Two, since not only is it stylistically similar to the latter's work but it bears a trade label (No. 2) which is stencilled in exactly the same style as I. Hill's Trade Label No. 1. The silhouette (c. 1805-1808) is of a boy in his teens, the stripes of whose waistcoat are painted in reddish-pink. The bust-line is distinctive, being neatly finished in front by the rendering of the top button of the sitter's tail coat.
