The only silhouette by Hargreaves dates from 1813. The subject is Hannah More (1745-1833), the author of ethical books, tracts and poems. The portrait is unusual, measuring barely 11.2 inches in height, the bust following a convexity/concavity line with a deep line of ground colour near the arm truncation, giving an almost three-dimensional effect.
