Hunter was primarily a cutter of heraldic artwork in white paper who may also have cut silhouettes. Jackson owned one example of his work, signed and dated 1798, and two pieces dated 1786 are held in the Victoria and Albert Museum. However, these are all heraldic pieces, depicting variously a patriotic shield, the Lord’s Prayer and the Creed. No silhouette work by Thomas Hunter has yet been identified.
