Hart, E. (McKechnie Section 2)

Recorded by Jackson (Dictionary), since when no more information about this artist (none of whose work can at present be located) has come to light. It is unknown whether he was an amateur or a professional.

Jackson refers to late eighteenth century work by Hart, painted in black on card and bronzed. As `bronzing' was not generally practised until after 1800, however, it is difficult to be certain that Hart produced any work before that year. Jackson mentions that a signed example of Hart's work was owned by a collector in Canterbury.

No engravers named E. Hart seem to be known, although engravers with the surname Hart were working after the early years of the nineteenth century.
