Bradshaw (McKechnie Section 1)

Known only from the illustrated example of his work, and from another similar profile in the same collection. The latter example is inscribed on the reverse, 'taken by Bradshaw, Novr, 1832’. Both profiles represent the same sitter (thought to be Captain Henry Edwards), and it is possible that they were taken near a naval base, such as Plymouth.

The illustrated example is almost half-length, and painted without bust-line termination. It is embellished very coarsely in gold. The shirt-collar is left white, and the cravat and waistcoat are painted in thinned black pigment.
