Wiche’s work was typical of the time except for one remarkable detail; the shallow extent of the back on existent silhouettes, where the bust-line termination dips sharply to the front. This feature is distinctive enough to be considered an indentifying trait. Wiche is known to have worked from several addresses in London, and was for some of his life a miniature painter. Dress on known silhouettes is accurately portrayed and shows an eye for detail.
