Details are scarce concerning this silhouettist, who is believed either to have been a native of Liverpool, or at least to have lived there in the early 1840s. His style is typical of cut paper work of the period.
We are left with only one Trade Label for Walker. It is from this that we have details of his address, cited as 48 Lord Street, Liverpool. It is not known whether Walker executed full-length profiles, as his only extant work is of bust length pictures.
His terminations are shown to differ according to gender. For men he signals termination with a narrow and slight convex/concave line. Women's images showed to termination but continued down to the frame. He cut from black paper using Chinese white for shirt details. His embellishments were done with fine gilding.
