Crammer is known for one silhouette. This is of a woman, and is one of nine silhouettes of the same family by different, unknown artists. Clear differences in technique mean the others in the group cannot be attributed to Crammer. The profile is painted in black on convex glass, with a sepia transparency used to enhance the detail of the sitter’s clothes. It is inscribed on the reverse “Job Joseph A.Crammer, Profile and Miniature Painter, 1821” and presented in a papier-mache frame.
