Chesterton was recorded by Jackson in her ‘Dictionary’, where he is simply described as a nineteenth-century artist – no specific dates or places of work are noted. She attributes one silhouette to him from her collection, a profile cut from black paper and bronzed. Jackson does not mention whether it is bust- or full-length. Nothing more is known of Chesterton.
