While a number of artists surnamed ‘Cooper’ are known to have been miniature painters, it is presumed that only Gibbons Cooper was a profilist. To him is ascribed a full-length profile painted on a red-brown background, but signed only “Cooper/1833”. The profile has bronzed detail. This particular artist is known to have worked from St. Pancras, London. No other details are known.
