Although none of Rider’s three known trade labels mentions work on plaster, Jackson (Dictionary) states that Rider did paint small silhouettes on plaster, ‘about two inches’ (presumably in height). Also, on 15 July 1968 a silhouette on plaster (3³∕₈ in. in height) of a woman by Rider was sold by Sotheby and Company, London, and this example was catalogued as bearing a trade label on the reverse.
