Introduction:

Mrs Rigg is recorded in Jackson’s dictionary as the artist of two pieces of cut work, exhibited at the Free Society of Artists, London, in 1764. No examples of her work are currently known. McKechnie suggests that any work found may be in white paper, in view of their early date.
