Recorded by Woodiwiss who mentions two silhouettes he had seen over thirty years previously. The pieces were full-length cut portraits of a Captain and Mrs Cole, embellished with gold, possibly with a rough watercolour base. Woodiwiss probably took the artist’s name from signatures, although these are not mentioned.
