Parker, G. F. (McKechnie Section 1)

Recorded by Woodiwiss, who, in his notebook, mentions two silhouettes, which he had seen over thirty years previously and dates to c. 1812.

The pieces were full-length cut portraits of a Captain and Mrs Cole, copiously embellished with gold. The 'rough base' mentioned by Woodiwiss probably indicates some poorly executed sweeps of watercolour about the sitter's feet. Woodiwiss does not mention signatures, but he probably took the artist's name from these.
