Thomason, J. (McKechnie Section 5)

See Section Four for main entry

Thomason offers work for jewellery setting on all his trade labels, and in two advertisements, one published in Leicester in 1787, the other published in Dublin in 1790. No signed pieces are known. The two illustrated profiles, however (of a man and a woman), from each side of a circular gold locket, are so similar in style (both in general outline and in the rendering of costume detail) to Thomason's work on plaster that they can safely be ascribed to him. The profiles are surrounded by elegant swags.
