Sandhegan, C. H. (McKechnie Section 2)

See Section Three for main entry

Although no work by an artist named M. Sandhegan can at present be traced, Jackson did mention in her Dictionary a profilist of this name who worked both on glass and on paper from an address in Marlborough Street, Dublin. It is possible that this artist is to be identified with C. H. Sandhegan, almost certainly a Dublin artist, whose trade labels, however, only mention that he worked on glass. The situation is further complicated by the fact that C. H. Sandhegan is referred to by Woodiwiss (British Silhouettes) as C. R. Sandhegan, and by Mayne as M. R. Sandhegan. It is is possible that the initial M. has been confused with the prefix ‘Mr’, which was used by so many of the silhouette artists.
