Recorded by Jackson (Dictionary), who mentions a silhouette bearing the signature ‘J. C. Garside musician, 18th Huzzars fecit’. She gives the date 1830. The piece described by Jackson was an equestrian portrait of Lieutenant-Colonel William Everett, who was possibly an officer of the 18th Hussars himself. The sitter wore full-dress uniform; the lining of the coat was in colour, as was the sabretache and sash. The saddle of the horse was obviously of bearskin, and the grey colour of the horse was shown, as was the brass-studded harness. The background showed troops on a parade ground.
