Foster is only known as the artist of two silhouettes, both of which are full length and have been pasted on to the background. To try and cover the black paper Foster used a great deal of bright colouring, which is a little clumsy at times. The most detailed paint work appears on the flower held in the hands of the young girl in one of the pieces. Aside from these two profiles, Foster is completely unknown.
