John Fergusson, who appears to have worked c 1810, seems only to have produced mourning silhouettes painted on card. Fergusson was recorded by silhouette expert Mr JA Pollak in his article 'Fresh Light on Silhouette', Connoisseur, March 1949. He mentioned a `fine obituary silhouette of a child surrounded by an elaborate border'. Another memorial silhouette by Fergusson for a boy, 'William Angus', is in the Christie collection.
