V Ellis is recorded by Woodiwiss, who describes a 19th century painted silhouette signed “V Ellis”. It has been suggested that this artist is the ‘Ellis’ without an initial, known as the author of some 19th century painted silhouettes. However, this has so far been impossible to confirm.
