Matthew Nicholson was a member of a Liverpool family known to have produced cut silhouettes. His name is recorded in Francis Nicholson, ‘Memorials of the Family of Nicholson’ (privately printed, 1928). However, no examples of his work are currently known. Nicholson may not have practiced his art commercially.
