Foster, Edward (McKechnie Section 4)

On one of his trade labels (No. 2), used c. 1812-14, early in his long career, Foster offers work on plaster. I have seen this label only on silhouettes painted in plain black. No profile on plaster by Foster is available for description. Any examples which come to light would probably show the extreme neatness which is the hallmark of his work. They might be in papier mâché frames, which (if original) would probably have the earlier type of 'Foster' hanger described and illustrated in Section Two.
